The movers were a moving today.
It was a rather pleasant experience. We had two nice men packing us out Monday, and Tuesday three picked up, loaded up and were out around 2:30, leaving us lonely in the empty house. The cats loved climbing and playing with all the boxes, they had their own jungle gym Monday night.
We are actually moving to Texas.
I think it will hit us both on the 14 hour car ride tomorrow. I thought I was ready to move, ready to leave Alabama, yet it is bitter sweet. We have met some really great friends here, friends we will miss them a lot as we move on to our next adventure, together (and with the army of course).
Change is always hard to grasp, to come to terms with, and we thought we would be used to it by now, but we are not. We are excited about the next chapter in Texas, we know that there is a greater reason we are sent there, because it def was not on our top three, but that is how it goes sometimes.

Donovan is going to be in the 1st CAV unit at Fort Hood, which just left for Iraq in April. His commander said he will meet them over there as soon as we are settled. So we are going to take our time to get settled :) We plan to hopefully find a nice house to rent in Harker Heights or the outskirts of Killeen in the first couple of days; maybe get our household goods delivered as soon as we do. We are then flying out for Virginia and Pennsylvania for a week to see both our families before Donovan ships out. We are very excited to see everyone!
And then we get back to reality, aka Fort Hood. It has been told to Donovan that it will take approx.. 35-40 days to in-process and do all the necessary training in country before heading out to Iraq to meet the rest of his unit. So we are preparing for a deployment at the end of June/early July.
Donovan and I thought it would be a great idea to start this blog together now as we are starting a new chapter together, with our moving and his deploying to keep our friends and family up to date and close. Both of us plan to update it separately when we are separated, and together when we are lucky to be together.
We hope you enjoy our tales, and never judge our grammer :)
