I wake up every morning to look forward to the next event on my calendar, whether it is something planned for the day, the next week or the next month I enjoy having something to look forward to.
Since Donovan left I have had a couple of events on my calendar to keep me going.
September - I went home for almost two weeks to see my new niece, visit Annie at JMU and for Brad and Kristi's wedding in Carlisle. I started substitute teaching in the Belton ISD and Killeen ISD, working on taking jobs at least twice a week.
October - I drove to Pensacola, FL for Amy's wedding and a 'college collaboration,' which John joined in as well. I also started volunteering at the USO which keeps me busy for 2-3 days a week. I also got an impromptu visit from friends from Fort Rucker, Kim and Travis who is here TDY to progress in Apaches before he deploys to Afghanistan in November out of Savannah.
November - Meghan is coming to visit! I might also try to make it to Tallahassee for a football game, but that is up in the air. I have no plans for Thanksgiving. I haven't been home for Thanksgiving for I guess five years but I believe I have at least seen John to make up for the lack of family, so I don't know what I'll do this year.
December - I am going home for Christmas, at some point, some how. I need to look into flying with the kitties, or find a road trip partner to drive across the country with me!
January - Late Jan. Donovan's R&R, hopefully.
and then Feb - April is free of events, and that needs to change soon.
In case you were wondering here are the things I am looking forward to this week...
I have been scheduled to work at the USO center on post Monday - Wed, from 9 am - 1 pm (ish). I have an appointment for my car to get an oil change and general inspection on Wed afternoon (since I drove to FL and back, just to check it out). I will take a sub job for at least Thursday or Friday, and then no plans for the weekend, they are usually spur of the moment. I work on my trunk project in some free hours. Boring week.
